7 Stunning Lanai Design Ideas

lanai design

Firstly, they’re eco-friendly and usually handcrafted, injecting a personal appeal and uniqueness. They’re also durable and resistant to weather conditions, making them a practical addition for an outdoor space. You could then use the space as your outdoor kitchen or second outdoor living room. The screen also helps to create a space that’s safe for small children and pets. You can let them enjoy the outdoors without fear of them wandering off or encountering anything dangerous.

The Ultimate Guide to Designer Desks: Elevate Your Workspace in Style

They're not only less prone to creasing, but you'll have a much easier time working with them. Consider the position of your future lanai, and if you need a gray-tinted screen to block the sun. Finally, we will highlight the importance of partnering with a reputable and experienced contractor like Precision Aluminum & Remodeling for your lanai project. Their expertise and dedication to exceptional customer service will ensure a seamless process, from initial consultation and design to construction and completion. By thoroughly considering these factors, you can transform your backyard into an outdoor oasis that will be perfect for relaxation, dining, and entertaining. You can add structural elements to your lanai, patio, or veranda for more privacy.

Because the area is small, you can easily string them from one side to the other and back. We provide sophisticated exterior finishes suitable to meet any climate conditions to which your home or structure may be exposed. If you have a lot of houseplants, you might be able to bring some of them outside. Before choosing any plants, check the hardiness zone for where you live. This will ensure that any plant you choose will be able to thrive in your home’s climate.

Difference Between a Lanai, Veranda, Porch, And Patio

Along with the pristine paneled flooring and low posts around the railing, there's also a wood strip at the top of the space that has an artistic look. The same can be said for the white wood privacy screen that features an intricately carved pattern. If you like to have large parties, then you might also appreciate having multiple areas on your lanai to entertain your guests. In this space, a dining table has been set up with chairs while a second area has seating around a fireplace and television. When you live somewhere that boasts sunny skies and glittering water, then you might not want décor that contrasts too much with the oasis-like vibe by being heavy or dark. Instead, embrace the existing ambiance by decorating your lanai with items that are light and bright.

The room’s focal point is a sleek wooden canopy bed, set against a textured blue wall adding an elegant touch to the beachy design. At its foot sits a large, white, upholstered bench that promotes relaxation and also provides additional seating. Meanwhile, a carefully chosen textured rug complements the design, adding warmth to the room while further enhancing its coastal charm. The client’s coastal home plans also involved the new look of the bedroom. Like the lanai porch and the rest of this serene and refreshing retreat, it captures the essence of beachside living. With a color scheme consisting of white, light blue, and natural light sandy tones, this bedroom exudes a sense of tranquility and calmness.

In contrast, the fire pit offers flexibility with placement options. This portable piece can sit in the center of your seating arrangement, creating a more intimate and communal setting. Its size tends to be smaller compared to fireplaces so it’s a great fit for compact spaces. By making the right selection, you can ensure your lanai remains a comfortable space year-round while radiating a distinct tropical vibe. Note that professional installation may be necessary if you aren’t experienced in electrical work.

But safety first – place them away from combustible materials and never leave them unattended. Highlight your creative side by varying the heights to achieve visual interest. For a more modern, fuss-free option, glass enclosed LED candles can also do the trick. They are serene, practical, and uniquely charming, vitalizing your outdoor space after dark.

Intentionally faded wood accents

When designing your lanai, keep in mind the importance of layout and space planning, furniture selection, lighting design, landscaping, and decorative accents. Choose flooring and roofing options that align with your aesthetic preferences and consider privacy solutions to create a secluded retreat. Finally, set the mood with the right lighting and draw inspiration from various design trends, be it minimalist, tropical, Mediterranean, or bohemian. For those seeking a more versatile and weather-resistant option, an enclosed lanai is an excellent choice.

Its minimalist layout along one axis allows for unobstructed views from the house. Building a lanai is one of the best ways to make your home both beautiful and more functional. However, it's critical to make the right decisions concerning materials, products, and design ideas.

The floor is quite literally all yours here…so do what you want with it! For mine, I wanted to create a space with lots of plants and comfy seating, that way it felt inviting for my friends and family. The client enjoyed the benefits that come with Decorilla’s inventive and convenient creation process. After working with the chosen designer to refine and perfect the moodboards, they received realistic 3D renderings depicting their space-to-be. Those images helped the client get a real grasp of their outdoor lanai and coastal home interior design, allowing them to make informed decisions.

Although this lanai features typical seating on its surface, it also has another seating section that happens to be sunken into the space. Filled with comfy cushions and plenty of matching throw cushions, it would be hard to resist stepping down into the sunken area and spreading out on the cozy seats. Stainless steel options resist rust, while bamboo torches offer a more authentic aesthetic. Place them strategically around the perimeter of your lanai for the best illumination.

And it wouldn't be complete without two eyes (using your handy dotting tool) and a mouth (so they can whisper 'boo' to anyone walking by you). For the true party animals out there, show off your stripes at your next Halloween event. First, use a base color and once it dries, use another shade to etch on tapered lines across each nail (making sure to leave space for an animalistic print effect). Draw out the furry feline, but keep the focus on the base of your nails for a twist on the half-moon look. While the thought of a spider crawling on your skin might be your worst nightmare, sporting the creature on your nails is just spooky enough. Use the dotting tool to create the body of the spider and a thin brush to create eight legs.

Black and Neon Green

Although they might look complex at first glance, all you need to land this design is a toothpick and your polishes of choice. And in case you mess up a bit, that's okay—each spot is unique, after all. Keep it simple with these constellation nails painted against a black sky—how Halloween-appropriate. Personalize it by tracing your own astrological constellation as an accent nail.

If you need a bit more guidance, we have you covered with this helpful tutorial. It’ll be unexpected (and super cool) to add a pop of color to your black manicure. Consider electric neon colors to bring your Halloween drawings to life—just in time for the party.

Her work appears InStyle, Shape, Real Simple, PEOPLE, and more. In addition to her freelance writing career, Taylor is also a certified barre teacher. She graduated from LIM College with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising.

Black Sparkles

We love a multicolor mani—not only does it save time at the polish wall, it gives us the chance to get super creative with all the colors we crave. Make yours Halloween-themed with a range of oranges, blacks, deep grays, and more for a look you’ll love through autumn. Whether you’re the Queen of Hearts this year or a good, old-fashioned witch, this gold dripping nail art look is to die for. We love a shimmery metallic gold color for this, like FORMULA X’s nail color in Revved Up. For an effortless yet evocative Halloween mani, consider a solid color with a shimmer or chrome finish. This mystical, metallic manicure resembles a magic potion that could very well keep us in eternal youth forever.

Paint them against brown (as shown here) or go even bolder with your brightest colors to really make them pop. Perfect for Halloween, cool enough to wear anytime you’re feeling edgy. What's more, the strategically placed crystals only add to the drama of the simple nail look. If you're looking for a festive Halloween manicure that makes you feel like the chicest vampire, look no further. This glossy nail design has red blood dripping from the tips, and if you look closely, the black base actually has a drip effect, too.

Dark Butterfly Nails

A cat costume is a foolproof choice, so why not try adding a feline-inspired nail design to complete your look? Apply an orange base coat to your nails and use a thin brush to create wavy black lines. Of course, black-and-orange options are at the top of the list when it comes to spooky season nails, but the seasonal manicure possibilities don't end there. All October long, play around with Halloween motifs (think ghouls, goblins, spiders and more), neon tones and embellishments.

Can there be anything more adorable than this nail design for Halloween? I love how both the colors match so well with each other and the overall design looks so cute 😭. Let’s start off with a simple Halloween nail design that is irresistibly cute!

halloween design nail art

Keep your nails pretty bare, and paint on as many kitties as you like. This one’s proof that Halloween can give you cute, fuzzy feels, too. Did you know there are different Halloween styles you can categorize yourself under? Celebrate a classic Halloween throwback with these brightly colored nails. Draw a circle at the tip of your nail with black polish and then add two triangles to the top to make cat ears.

It looks perfect and matches the spooky vibes for the season perfectly. Another design with children’s book type of illustrations — after all, Halloween is largely child focused holiday. Your kids will love these adorable ghostly nails by @ljc_nails, which you can draw on with this white nail pen over whatever nail color you want. These cat claw inspired-nails by @ritaremark for essie are super easy. All you need to do is trace a triangle with a black pen or essie’s Licorice and then fill it in. You can do a coat of essie’s shade called Ladylike before you draw them on to make your nails really shine.

Bring an all-black mani to the next level with a bright orange pumpkin on your ring finger. After you draw on a black French tip, extend the black paint down to the nail base in a zig-zag pattern, emulating strikes of lightning. Once that has dried, go back in to define the zig-zags with gold polish for an extra-spooky look.

halloween design nail art

With Halloween just around the corner, a costume might be on your mind. Whether you're looking to complement your dress-up or are searching for an alternative way to celebrate this spooky time of year, give nail art a try. From pumpkins to spiders to black cats to witches, there is a myriad of potential ideas available at your fingertips. This skull cameo mani is actually three-dimensional and made using acrylic powder (so it’s best to leave it to the pros). A matte topcoat gives it a vintage effect that’s worthy of a permanent place in your nail art wardrobe. With reds, pinks, greens, and blues this super fun nail look will have all eyes on you.

Movies give us endless beauty inspiration (think Barbie nails), so why not channel your favorite scary flicks with inspired nail art? This look features the classic Ghostbusters insignia and Slimer on the one hand, while the other shows the outline and eye of the titular Candyman character. The micro French manicure is in and October is the perfect time to dive into the trend.

Make sure your nails are the star of the show with tons of neon nail art. Orange is always a seasonally appropriate color — but it's made even more holiday-ready with a ghostly twist. When you're sorting out your Halloween 2020 look, don't forget about your nails. This year is all about pink (we’re looking at you Versace!), and we want our Halloween nail art to be on point. Whether you’re going as Beetlejuice or just want to get into the Halloween spirit while still remaining subtle, these nails are the right amount of spooky. If you're not into a full Halloween getup this year, go for a sparkly glitter-dipped manicure for a still seasonally appropriate look.

22 Timeless Bathroom Designs That Won't Go Out of Style

A slim ladder adds character to a small bathroom while also serving as a place to hang your towels. The wood texture of the ladder in this design by Collected Interiors also lends some warmth. "The client loved jewel tones, so I mixed Schumacher’s Queen of Spain wallpaper in the blue colorway with an emerald green mirror, refreshed brass hardware, and lighting," says Patton. If bright colors or artsy details aren't your thing, take your cue from Jeff Streich of Prime Renovations.

Opt for elegance in a country bathroom

To get the look, when designing your bathroom keep everything very simple but add in natural materials like wood and stone, then accessories with rattan accessories and statement plants. One reason we like to book in a spa retreat is to create a sense of escapism and to immerse ourselves in a sensory experience. Minimalists by nature, Natalia Swarz and Armando Mesías make living in a 700-square-foot home (with a toddler) look easy thanks to a tranquil grouping of materials. In the bathroom, they combined olive green zellige tile and dim lighting to set a relaxing mood for nighttime baths with their little one. The way the shower is open without a glass door or curtain makes it easy to slide their daughter’s bathtub in there, too.

Matching Tile

Among the most illuminating bathroom decorating ideas is the installation of a skylight. It brings in abundant natural light, making your bathroom feel more spacious, open, and airy. By marrying indoor comfort with natural outdoor brilliance, this modern bathroom décor idea provides an unmatched sense of tranquility. There are few materials that can create a feeling of opulence in modern bathroom design that marble can. Elegant, understated and effortlessly beautiful, marble bathroom ideas can be used to great effect in a luxury bathroom. A classic pale neutral scheme is an elegant option for a country luxury bathroom design.

Separate the Shower and Vanity

Even if the space technically allows for two sinks, you still might consider just one to allow for more counter space. In this small bathroom design, two faucets flow into one large sink for a creative spin on the standard double sink option. If your budget allows, don't be afraid to splurge on a wow-worthy detail. Take, for example, the stunning black marble sink seen in this small bathroom project by Unique Kitchens and Baths.

Enhance Aesthetics With Modern Toilet Design

When it comes to high-end  interior design, whether it's the bathroom sinks, the flooring, fixtures, or lights, the prerequisite is always luxurious, rich materials. Because of their quality, marble, limestone, and travertine are popular choices in luxury bathrooms. Instead, we've found the most gorgeous luxury bathroom designs that are easy to emulate. From quick and cheap modern bathroom ideas, to longer projects will pay dividends over time, there are plenty decor and designs approaches you can take. Selecting a toilet with a modern design or unusual color is an unexpected way to bring chic design to your bathroom. Wall-mounted models can offer both a space-saving solution and a conversation starter, transforming an often-overlooked fixture into an intriguing part of your bathroom décor ideas.

You can offset sleek stone with organic textures like wood and rattan; you can incorporate soft textiles in the form of towels and rugs; and you can consider bringing in some curved edges. Dimmable wall lights, like sconces, can also increase the coziness. You can have zellige tile, tadelakt walls, and a mix of hardware finishes and still call your bathroom minimalist as long as they stick to a tight color palette. In this space, designer Elspeth Benoit landed on deep shades of blue. Even though there is a glass shower door dividing the space, it looks like one wall surface bleeds into the next. Do you know why almost every hotel has white bedding and towels?

Want a luxurious main suite with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea? What a luxuriously spacious bathroom this is, all up in sleek marble. The bathroom was designed by Cynthia Kriz Design, which appears quite big and sophisticated. Add character to your guest bathroom by mixing up the wall materials.

This modern bathroom utilizes a stack of pure white folded towels next to a tropical houseplant as decorative accents on the deck of the bathtub. The black handshower serves as a striking shower décor idea, finishing this functionally elegant bathroom in style. As much as we love bright hues and fanciful decor, there is a case to be made for neutral color palettes, crisp minimalism, and other sleek modern bathroom ideas. Contemporary style, with its earth tones and clean lines, offers a calming effect that’s ideal for washing up and winding down. Choose a clutter-free atmosphere devoid of personal products, wet towels, and soiled clothes. You can also include slip-resistant rugs, fine art, painting or sculptures, a vanity, mirrors that can be antique or modern fog-free styles, and more.

Black tiling, a gorgeous vanity, framed oil painting, and industrial vase with pink roses help bring this space to life. Small bathrooms and powder rooms provide us with an opportunity to be a little more playful than we might be elsewhere. Whether lightly sprucing up your space or going in for a major overhaul, these small bathroom ideas will certainly ignite your imagination. If you make the semicircular brick arch, veined orb pendant, and wall of subway tiles white, then a black tub is compulsory. The tub, fittings, and tiles in this bathroom by ELLE DECOR A-Listers Ashe Leandro are all by Waterworks, and the vintage light fixture is from JF Chen. In the powder room of an Upper East Side apartment designed by Patrick Mele, the walls and ceiling are color blocked in various bright shades.

Thanks to the desire to create a sanctuary at home, the bathroom has become a retreat, a private oasis to help restore mental and physical wellbeing. Wood is now the material of choice for its natural beauty and warmth; it conjures the quiet luxury of a spa. Parisian bathroom decor has been trending for the past few months, and you can see why. Bathroom storage is within antique furniture, lighting is more likely to be a bathroom chandelier, and fixtures and fittings have a distinct, period feel. It's a laid-back, traditional look that's in stark contrast to the minimalist, streamlined looks that were popular in bathrooms in the past decade. Opting for a Parisian inspired bathroom will go a long way to making your home look expensive, too.

For generations, the aristocracy considered the bathroom as an area to retreat and regain one’s feeling of wellbeing. Toilet fixtures, showers, state-of-the-art sinks, and on-trend style pieces are the contemporary male’s resources for curating a cool bathroom. Many individuals feel overwhelmed by their lavatory’s abundance of fixtures and amenities. This one is a great illustration of a minimalist bathroom that nevertheless seems classy. This soothing oasis was designed by Safa Interiors, LLC, and has a white bathroom. If you have distinctly-colored walls, try coordinating them with your towels or rugs.

Our top picks of the best luxury bathroom ideas will equip you will plenty of inspiration to help you create your dream washroom. There’s nothing like a beautiful bathroom tile idea for adding texture and visual interest to a luxury bathroom. We love the way dark fixtures complement the marble and wood to create a more industrial feel in this bathroom. For a luxury bathroom with a timeless feel, think about opting for chrome fixtures and fittings. A great accompaniment to a marble scheme, chrome makes an understated addition to a bathroom that’s guaranteed to stand the test of time. You can get a luxe look with careful vintage buys and smart planning.

Providing texture and color, terrazzo is a fun way to update your master bathroom scheme, especially if you don't want to commit to a single material. Think of it as you would layering different fabric patterns in a living room or bedroom. A commonplace feature in many a luxury bathroom, heated towel radiators not only offer warmth but a place to hang your towels tastefully.

I was worried this would not make in time for my trip but the custom beanies came just in time & looked amazing! Different brim types can offer different benefits, including sun protection and functionality. But normally, the choice of brim type is usually more style-focused.

A contrasting sandwich is created by adding a third piece of fabric along the front of the bill between the top and bottom fabric. Sandwich fabric is normally in a contrasting color and can be screen-printed with text for customization. Stitching on the bill can range from 4 rows to 8 rows. Designhill is the best custom hat maker for businesses, teams, schools or special occasions. You can personalize your dad hats, baseball caps, or more using our customized hats maker.

To have company promotion and branding caps designed and made up is a great way to drive marketing and visibility. We offer only caps and beanies from quality brands, meaning they can handle a lot more wear than low quality caps. It also means higher brand exposure and better return on investment. A great advantage with Hatstore is that we don’t impose minimum orders. You can order just one cap with your own logotype, as a sample or for your one-man company.

Can be created as low profile, medium profile or high profile by adjusting the angle of the front crown. Low profile slants backward versus high profile that angles almost straight up from the bill. The crown of the cap is also what determines if the hat is structured or unstructured. Structured caps have a buckram fused to the inside of the cap to keep the front ridged.

With so many different hat types as well as different brands and even print methods to choose from, it’s not always easy to know where to start. Our caps & hats are custom embroidered, so they look pro. Upload or create your logo using our designer to make your one of a kind hat a reality. Choose this option if you won’t be printing anything on your hat, adding your design with embroidery or a patch instead. Choose this option if you’re planning on adding a colorful printed pattern to your entire hat. Ordering custom hats offers a seamless and creative way to promote your brand or event.

Panels – Fabric pieces used to create the shape of the cap. Most caps are 6 panel caps with a seam in the center of the front crown but there are also 5 panel and 8 panel caps. 5 panel caps are mainly used for “trucker caps” or caps that have screen printing on the front instead of embroidery. Panels are sewn together with thread matching the color of the cap material or with a contrasting color.

History of the Bath House

In 1980, the Dallas City Arts Program, the Park and Recreation Department and the East Dallas Chamber of Commerce joined together to renovate the old Bath House. Now the Bath House Cultural Center is home to a 116-seat black box theater, three galleries, the White Rock Lake Museum, and other gathering places. The Bath House hosts numerous art exhibitions, theater and dance performances, literature and poetry readings, and other local events. It is also the host venue of the annual Festival of Independent Theatres (FIT). Today the Bath House Cultural Center serves the artists and independent theatres of Dallas.

Chicago Park District took over operation of the city-owned bath houses in the 1970s. Today, the building has been carefully renovated into an upscale community and business meeting space after serving as a private residence for decades. The monumental main room has been redesigned as a serene yet functional space complete with state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities and a deluxe catering kitchen.

Consistently rated as one of the Top Attractions in the DFW Metroplex, the Bath House’s energetic atmosphere and diverse programming create a hotbed for the nurturing of new work and an exciting place where artists and audiences meet. Our individual and philanthropic involvement rewards, incubates and benefits emerging and established artists. Through our conservancy funding of this landmark building, we have created warm, vibrant and inviting spaces that make the creative arts approachable to all who visit, encouraging conversation, exploration and enjoyment. The former Lincoln Street Bath House is one of just four municipal bath houses still standing in Chicago. The city built 19 public bath houses between 1894 and 1918 because indoor plumbing and bathing facilities were not common in urban dwellings at the time.

The 8 gong, 16 bowl sound bath then expands one deep into a blissful and relaxed state. Los Angeles, CA 90016WebsiteThe Lula Washington Contemporary Dance Foundation (LWCDF) was founded in 1980 by Lula and Erwin Washington to provide a creative outlet for minority dance artists in South Los Angeles. In this sound bath, the practitioner blends the sounds of 8 gongs and 16 crystal singing bowls. This helps listeners cultivate a relaxed mind and body and an expanded state of awareness. Many people reach a deep state of physical relaxation while becoming more awake and aware of their inner world during this event. Bath House Cultural Center first opened its doors in 1930 as an actual bathhouse for the thousands of people who came to swim in White Rock Lake.

In August of 1981, the citizens of East Dallas celebrated the birth of the City’s first neighborhood cultural center. From ancient civilizations to the present day, artists have been drawn to the symbolic richness and emotional resonance embedded in depictions of this universal symbol. Contemporary artists, including the fifty-nine that are featured in the 2024 El Corazón show, continue this tradition by incorporating the heart into their creations, adding their unique perspectives to the ongoing narrative of its significance in art. Last week we put out a call to hear about Black-owned museums, galleries, and art spaces that we might not know about and as of this writing, there are twenty-three spaces on our list.

The exhibition features emerging and well-established artists in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, fiber, action figures, sculpture, and performance. It reveals the impact of place in shaping the identity and practice of artists working in landscapes with deeply shared histories while uncovering the common threads and examining the similarities of parallel narratives, cultures, and heritage. The Bath House Cultural Center’s art galleries showcase artists from Dallas and all over the world.

In addition to the art sale, there is food, music and a silent auction. Built in 1930 on what were then the rural shores of White Rock Lake, the “Old Bath House” was one of the first uses of Art Deco architecture in the southwest. The building provided lockers, changing rooms, rentable swim suits and concessions for the thousands of people that drove from all over North Texas to swim in the lake. The 116-seat Bath House theater is home to many of Dallas’ finest theater companies.
